Music Therapy is the use of music as a tool to help social, cognitive, physical and emotional health, eventually improving the quality of life. The NEW BIRTHH Program uses HipHop, as well as other genres of music, to inspire positive behaviors, build self-esteem, correct negative behaviors, and encourage goal setting. This program assists children in learning new ways to express themselves and facilitates relaxation and behavior management through singing, writing songs, and listening to music. The program uses the physical, emotional, mental, aesthetic and spiritual facets of music to help people improve their overall health.
Students will be given the chance to create music and record in a professional studio. Each child will sign a behavioral contract and agree to uphold the behavioral expectations of the program.
